Saturday, July 03, 2010 RECYCLING THE BOXES Since I got back from Dallas in February, I've been hoarding boxes because I knew I was on the verge of moving back to Texas. I knew that something needed to change and kept thinking that it was time to go home. Thought that maybe the DTC job would turn long term or that ACU would want me back or that The Colony would jump at someone with my resume to be their special events person for their city. And then these school districts - would never have thought, but they were calling me back - I knew that it was inevitable that I'd be teaching with Kim and moving in to Nika's spare bedroom in Keller. I NEVER imagined that I'd be staying in NYC working for a television studio. But because of the relationship I developed with one of my actors, I'm beginning an entirely new journey that I never would have thought to pursue. This job is the answer to so many prayers, it's completely overwhelming. Am so thankful and so blessed. It's not how I thought my fall was going to work. I thought I'd be home in time for football season. Was looking forward to checking out the RHCC Saturday night service, to coffee dates with Kelly, Becky & Nika, weekends in Baird, developing a church family, pedicures with The Mom, and of course loads of El Fenix and Sonic. Instead, I'll be figuring out how television works, keeping an A-list actor and her kids in the right place at the right time, trying to manage a household staff, 2 residences, and who knows how much press & publicity. I have no idea what I'm doing, but am thankful that I'm figuring it out with an actor I adore, and that I'll be able to go to church regularly (first time in 6 years), and the paycheck will always come and be the same amount - what a fascinating way to live.I guess it's time to recycle those boxes. Lucky enough to have seen Straight No Chaser for the second time last week at The Beacon (saw them in August for my birthday in Atlantic City). If you ever have the opportunity to see these guys live, you will be glad you did. Under Construction 12/12/2010
